Resolved: Marqeta's upstream SMS provider has resolved the formatting issue affecting cardholder messages in Australia. All SMS one-time passcode (OTP) messages are once again being delivered with their correct program sender IDs.

Following a period of sustained monitoring, we have confirmed that this is now closed.

Identified: Marqeta engineers are aware of an issue affecting SMS one-time passcode (OTP) messages sent to cardholders in Australia.

Impacted messages are currently being delivered with an "Unverified" sender name instead of the program's normal sender ID. Please note that message delivery itself is not blocked, and cardholders are still successfully receiving and able to use their verification codes.

We have identified the root cause as an issue with our upstream SMS provider and have escalated it to them for resolution. We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.

Resolved: Marqeta has received confirmation from Apple Pay that they identified the root cause of the in-app provisioning failures and have resolved the issue.

Following an extended period of monitoring normal traffic and sustained system stability, we are now closing this incident.

Monitoring: Marqeta engineers detected a recurrence of issues affecting Apple Pay provisioning between 16:00 PT and 16:30 PT.

Traffic has since returned to normal, and services are currently operating as expected. We are continuing to closely monitor the situation to ensure sustained stability. The next update will be provided when new information becomes available.

Resolved: Marqeta engineers have successfully verified that Apple Pay provisioning is fully operational. Following a period of sustained stability, this incident is now resolved.

Monitoring: Marqeta engineers have observed a significant improvement in Apple Pay provisioning success rates over the last 30 minutes, and we are currently no longer seeing any new instances of failed requests.

We will continue to closely monitor the stability of provisioning and provide another update in approximately 30 minutes.

Investigating: Marqeta engineers are continuing to investigate the issue originally detected at approximately 12:30 PT (19:30 UTC). The issue is specifically limited to Apple Pay provisioning.

Our team has contacted Apple Pay directly to check for external network outages and we are currently awaiting their response. We will provide another update as soon as we have more information.

Investigating: On Monday, June 29, 2026, Marqeta engineers detected an issue causing traffic drops for Apple Pay transaction requests and push provisioning, starting at approximately 12:30 PT (19:30 UTC). Our team is actively investigating the root cause and assessing the full scope of impact.

The next update will be in approximately 30 minutes.

Resolved: All delayed files have been processed.

Investigating: On Monday, June 29, 2026, Marqeta engineers detected a delay in receiving Visa clearing files, starting at approximately 05:45 PT (12:45 UTC). Visa has addressed an internal issue and has successfully sent the files. This will result in a ~3 hour delay for clearing processing and reporting. We will update this space again once the delay has been addressed, or upon any notable change in status.

Investigating: On Monday, June 29, 2026, Marqeta engineers detected a delay in receiving Visa clearing files, starting at approximately 05:45 PT (12:45 UTC). Our team is engaging Visa to actively investigate the root cause and provide the files in a timely manner.
