The network remains stable. Closing this incident

Monitoring: At 6:23 AM, a legacy Cisco VSS pair (fluffy) had an event which rebooted both chassis causing an outage to the VPN, ITS Manning Tier 1, Athletics AV Tier 1, Campus Services and the Hosted Data Center. The outage lasted until the pair rebooted and came back online ar9und 6:45. This is a pair of equipment that will be sent to pasture with the fabric migration and is not currently available for support from Cisco. If the event reoccurs, we will be isolating one of the chassis members to remove the situation that forced them to reboot. The equipment had an uptime of 6 years

Monitoring: The ITS Operations Center detected a significant network issue impacting the campus network starting at 0623a. Engineers determined the root cause and quickly resolved the incident. We will continue to monitor for stability.

The connectivity issue affecting UNC School of Medicine, has been resolved. Sites are now accessible and operating normally. We have confirmed service stability and will continue monitoring to ensure continued availability.

Monitoring: Investigators have identified the issue and sites should be returning to service, but engineers are continuing to monitor.

Identified: There is an issue that is impacting connectivity to School of Medicine websites including www.med.unc.edu. Engineers are aware of this issue and are working with the vendor to resolve,

Resolved – WordPress Multisite Networks Restored

Monitoring: The WordPress sites.unc.edu network is recovered.

ITS-DigitalServices has been actively mitigating a high volume of malicious traffic and distributed attacks from bad actors.

Digital Services will continue to monitor the service.
