Several of these remediation steps are being executed in parallel to accelerate resolution. We will provide further updates as restoration progresses and will share additional guidance if client action becomes necessary. At this time, no action is required from clients.

Investigating: The team understands the issue and problems caused. They are investigating the path forward to provide a fix to clean up any corrupted links. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Investigating: With the release of Blackboard SaaS 4000.8 to production last week, there was a change that inadvertently may have caused some links to become corrupted. In a specific scenario where a document included PDF attachments from more than one course, an attachment from a different course may no longer be referenced correctly. In some cases, the document may display an incorrect PDF or an attachment may not open as expected. Note: This can happen with any file types that are cross-referenced too (not just PDFs)

The team is currently investigating to identify impacted or affected links and is working to determine a fix.

Resolved: We can report that the rollout to all production instances and final QA testing is now complete. Image generation is fully restored in all instances of Blackboard LMS. As part of this fix, you may notice an improvement in the generated image quality. If you have any further concerns or still are experience image generation issues, please raise a support ticket through the usual channels.

Monitoring: We have found a fix for AI image generation in Blackboard LMS. This has been through our QA process, the rollout has begun with positive initial signs of service restoration in production instances. We aim to post a final status on this once the rollout process to all instances has completed and post rollout QA is successful.

Identified: We have identified the root cause of the issue and are analyzing the options available to us to bring image generation back online. Please bear with us as we work through this. We are 'following the sun' on getting a solution deployed as soon as possible.

Investigating: We are experiencing issues on AI image generation within Blackboard LMS. Instructors receive an error when attempting to generate new images. Previously generated images applied to courses are fine and not effected. We are investigating and working with our service provider towards a solution.
