Active Incidents
For RMIS Customers: We've identified an unusually large number of changes in yesterday's Motus file, including some that appear unintentional — for example, a large number of records where data in a specific field is now blank. As a result, we've paused ingestion of Census data while we investigate. We are in contact with the FMCSA to confirm whether these changes are accurate. They've confirmed they're investigating on their end as well. We'll continue to post updates as we learn more.
Recently Resolved Incidents
For RMIS customeres: FMCSA processed a large, intentional update to Census carrier data today, resulting in more carrier data changes than usual in RMIS monitoring. FMCSA confirmed the change directly and told us it was not an error. Most affected records are inactive carriers, though you may notice somewhat more activity on carriers you actively monitor. Additional updates may follow, and we will provide updates as we receive them.
The SAFER company snapshot has been updated with a number of brand new Operating Authority Statuses, resulting in a many carriers being decertified in RMIS. We are working with FMCSA to confirm this change. In the meantime, we are reverting any carriers that were updated back to the status they had before. Once we have confirmation from the FMCSA, we will adjust appropriately to reflect the latest accurate Operating Authority Status information.
For RMIS and SaferWatch customers: The FMCSA is currently transitioning to Motus and has temporarily paused updates to L&I data, as well as the addition of new authorities to the Census file.
During this freeze, customers should not expect to see updates to L&I data or newly added authorities reflected in our platform. The FMCSA anticipates lifting the freeze on May 19, 2026.
As soon as the data becomes available again, we will update our systems promptly. We appreciate your patience and will provide further updates here as needed.
