As part of the ongoing integration following the merger of Intermountain Healthcare and SCL Health, Epic will be transitioning message feeds from SCL facilities' (St.Vincent, St.James, Holy Rosary) into Intermountain's production environment on August 19, 2025. Following this change, data originating from these facilities will display IHC as the source facility consistent with other Intermountain messages (for those receiving HL7 messages this will show in the MSH.4 segment). Please be aware of this change when reviewing incoming data.
Intermountain is transitioning from their Cerner-based EHR (iCentra) to Epic, with a planned cutover date of September 6, 2025. During the cutover, all inpatients will be discharged from iCentra and admitted into Epic.
For consumers receiving ADTs: (i) You will first receive A03 discharge messages from iCentra (with iCentra’s MRN) (ii) Followed by A01 admit messages from Epic (with the new Epic MRN)
We’re checking with them whether A08s might be an alternative or whether specific values will be included in relevant HL7 segments to help us distinguish between technically triggered discharges and actual patient discharges. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
Please plan accordingly and let us know if you have other questions.
